HIGHLIGHT TEXTURE WITH FAUX PARCHMENT AND FLUTED PLASTER WALLS

PHOTOGRAPHY: NICK GLIMENAKIS

As we begin to welcome Autumn in New York our spotlight falls on this serene, timeless home in the Upper East Side. This project brought to life by interior designer Alyssa Kapito in collaboration with SuperStrata and two of our talented artisans perfectly illustrates how two different artisan finishes can work together in harmony.

Sylvie Bilger of Metamorfaux brought her extraordinary skills in decorative painting to elevate an elegant dining room with faux parchment walls, painted by hand. We always love to see how she imitates materials of the natural world with such grace and precision.

Custom plaster flutes created by SuperStrata and finished by Patrick Shoemaker now line the foyer of this residence, adding texture and depth. From the bench-run panels up to the hand-cast coves that draw your attention to the beautiful recessed ceiling, the artistry is impeccable.
