FAUX PAINTED AND HIGH GLOSS LACQUER ELEMENTS SHINE IN A NEW YORK RESIDENCE
In a spirited collaboration with Carrier & Company, an array of elegant finishes were created throughout a home in New York’s Midtown East neighborhood. High gloss lacquer ceilings in the master bedroom and the dining room make the rooms feel brighter and spacious with their respective cream and pale green sheens reflecting and harmonizing with the decor of the rooms that they extend over. Rich black high gloss doors give a sleek look in the vestibule area with their mirror effect, which along with the aforementioned ceilings required a feat of true skill by our artisan Patrick Shoemaker to create a flawless, smooth finish.
Across the home’s living room walls Patrick installed a beige-hued Venetian plaster that blends seamlessly with the window treatments. Decorative and faux finishes by SuperStrata add rich texture and character to the kitchen in the form of a pale strié glaze brushed over the millwork, as well as mahogany woodgrained door casings and crown moulding that bring warmth to the library.
