FLATIRON DISTRICT APARTMENT
PANORAMIC WALL MURAL AND FAUX MALACHITE PAINTED FLOOR
A geometric floor pattern adorns the master bedroom and a calming, bucolic mural wraps around the entire living and dining spaces. This has been a highly anticipated collaboration between Ceara Donnelley Ltd. Co. and our partner artisans, Sylvie Bilger of Metamorfaux, and David Faust. These two master decorative painters brought Ceara’s vision for this Flatiron apartment to life.
Weeping willows and large-scale trees gave David inspiration when painting the panoramic mural that makes you feel as though you are surrounded by the fields of the countryside. The sepia tone sets the mood and welcomes you to stay and relax without overpowering the furnishings and decor.
Following the hallway from the entrance you find yourself at the master bedroom and your eyes instantly gaze down to take in the hexagonal floor pattern that beckons you inside. It was an elaborate process for Sylvie to complete this geometric design and her talent as a faux painter shines through with intriguing hexagons that mimic malachite.
