ORNAMENTAL SCULPTURE
This type of decorative sculpture focuses on fabricating architectural elements like columns, coves, dome ceilings, mouldings, medallions, and cornices. Depending on the material used, various levels of polish or sheen can be achieved, and embellishments such as gold leaf can be applied.
Ceramic Sculpture
These are sculpted out of clay and are then fired in a kiln to harden so they can become permanent.
Stone Sculpture
Using tools including chisels, hammers, and sandpaper to carve and smooth the stone, these sculptures are made by transforming a block of stone—such as Limestone and Carrara marble—into an expression of beauty.
Plaster Sculpture
Typically created through a casting process using a mold or by building and carving directly into plaster, these sculptures can be installed directly to an interior surface (in situ), extending out from a wall or ceiling. Both high and low (bas) reliefs and friezes offer another way to incorporate designs into a room, which you can see more specifically here.
